DESCRIPTION... Please read!
This is a FoodSaver model VAC 820. It is an older model FoodSaver, but other than one flaw, it still works great. The flaw is that the auto-seal function no longer works, so when all of the air is sucked out of the bag you just have to quickly turn the knob to “seal” while still pressing down on the lid with your other hand. This flaw might be something a handy guy could fix. I’m not handy with electrical stuff, so didn’t try to do it myself and just used it by turning the knob. If you move quickly to rotate the knob while still holding the lid down tight the bag won’t lose any of the vacuum and seals just fine. As stated, this is an older FoodSaver model, so it doesn’t have the lid locking feature that the more recent models have. Once you have inserted the end of the bag into the FoodSaver you have to manually hold the lid tightly shut and turn on the vacuum feature, then continue holding the lid down until the process is completed. This model also has the hose port, so can be used with the FoodSaver hose attachment to seal the various FoodSaver canisters or, if you get the canning jar attachments, can be used to seal dry foods, like rice and beans, in canning jars for long term storage. No bags or accessories are included with the sale. I upgraded to a newer model FoodSaver, so am selling this one to clear out much needed cabinet space, otherwise I’d keep it for an emergency backup. You can still find PDF manuals online for this model if you search. If you have any questions, please email.
