Raised planter boxes for growing vegetables. They are built upon ordering.

SIZES:

2 ft x 8 ft X 15 inches deep and 36 inches high put on cinder block.

2 ft X 4 ft X 15 inches deep and 36 inches high put on cinder block.

2 ft X 2 Ft X 21 inches as sown above for planting dwarf lemon or lime trees to put on your patio. Wheels can be put on these to move around. Dwarf Lemon/Lime trees can withstand up to 20 degrees temperature on the patio. They require at least 6 hours of direct sun a day.

These beds need to be put on 8 inch by 8 inch cinder blocks. By raising the beds and using organic soil, ( not New Mexico soil ), you will be to start growing a least two weeks earlier because a raised bed, the soil is warmed up quicker in the sun that the soil in the ground.

You purchase organic soil to put in these beds from Home Depot and Lowe's.

This way no weeding, no worrying about animals peeing or pooping on the vegetables which can give you salmonella in your vegetables when planted in the ground. Planting in the ground unless you have it completely fenced off from animals is NOT wise to do anywhere because of this health issue.

The planter boxes are sealed with boiled linseed oil to preserve the wood. The liner is 6 ML food grade black plastic. They have drains in them.

GREENHOUSES:

I also build a couple of sizes greenhouses with metal piping and lumbar for less than what you see online and better built. The 10 X 20 X 7 foot greenhouse is shown above.

The plastic used is special commercial grade UV protection 16 ML greenhouse plastic that will last 7-10 years before needing replacing. It is NOT the cheap plastic sold with greenhouse kits online that will start to tear in two years in the Southwest sun.

In the Southwest you must install exhaust fans powered by solar panels to cool greenhouse in the worst summer months.

(2) Standard sizes:

10 feet by 7 feet by 7 feet.

This will hold (2) eight foot long raised beds and (2) two foot by two foot raised beds, ( 2 X 2's) used for tomato plants. One 90 watt solar powered exhaust fan is needed for this size.

This has (2) small windows in the front, exhaust fan in the year.

10 foot by 20 foot by 7 foot

This size is shown above.

This will hold (6) eight foot long (3) two foot by two foot square beds. It has (3) 90 watt solar powered exhaust fans. These run directly off the solar panels, no batteries needed.

It has several windows in the front as shown in the picture.

This size requires a small evaporative cooler to be in it which is only a 65 watt fan, about the cost of a 60 watt bulb a day for 4-7 hours a day and it gets hotter. You are only looking at about $2.00 to $3.00 a week in electricity cost.

Water and electricity can be brought into this size as shown easily.

Having a greenhouse means you can start growing a month earlier and grow a month longer. If you put a oil heater in the greenhouse in winter for night time, ( using solar panels already needed to charge additional purchased batteries during day) you can grow year round.
